Machakos County is set to host a major political mobilisation event on Sunday, May 31, 2026, as the Linda Mwananchi movement intensifies its grassroots campaigns across the country. The gathering is expected to attract supporters from different parts of the Ukambani region, with organisers calling for a strong turnout.
The event forms part of the movement’s ongoing efforts to expand its influence and connect with citizens at the grassroots level ahead of the 2027 General Election. Leaders associated with the initiative are expected to use the platform to engage residents on governance, accountability, and issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.
According to the programme released by the organisers, the day will begin with a church service at AIC Kyanda from 10:00 am. Following the service, the leaders will proceed to Machakos Town, where a major rally has been scheduled for 1:00 pm. The gathering is expected to draw large crowds as leaders outline their agenda and rally support for the movement.
After the Machakos Town meeting, the leaders will head to Mlolongo for another mega rally scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm. The second stop is expected to attract residents from the rapidly growing urban centre and surrounding areas.
The Machakos engagements come amid increased political activity across the country as various political formations seek to strengthen their support bases and establish regional networks ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Political observers are closely watching the Linda Mwananchi movement’s activities, viewing them as part of broader efforts to reshape Kenya’s political landscape through grassroots mobilisation and public engagement.
