Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stepped up consultations for the proposed "6th Administration", meeting Kenyan diaspora representatives and describing them as key partners in the country's political and economic future.
Gachagua said the Kenyan diaspora remains a critical stakeholder in the country's socioeconomic development and should play a central role in shaping the nation's political future.
"The voice of Kenyans in Diaspora is crucial in the liberation of our Nation. They are key stakeholders in our socioeconomic development of our country," he said.
The meeting was held at his Wamunyoro residence, where Gachagua said representatives of Kenyans living and working abroad presented their views as part of ongoing consultations on the country's political direction.
"This afternoon, at Wamunyoro Residence, I was glad to receive representatives of Kenyans living and working abroad. They gave me their input on the ongoing consultations on the liberation of our country and the formation of the 6th Administration," he said.
The former Deputy President said the consultations remain ongoing, signalling that he will continue engaging different sectors of society as he seeks to shape his political agenda ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The latest meeting adds to a series of consultations Gachagua has held with religious leaders, professionals, youth groups, elders and political allies since leaving office. He has consistently maintained that public participation will guide the formation of his political alliance.
Kenya's diaspora community is among the country's largest sources of foreign exchange through remittances and has increasingly sought greater involvement in national governance and policymaking.
Gachagua concluded his statement by affirming that the consultations would continue before signing off with the message, "God Bless Kenya."
