The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced a temporary disruption of its online voter verification services as it undertakes a routine upgrade of its ICT systems.
According to the commission, the maintenance has affected several online services, including public voter searches through the verify.iebc.or.ke portal, voter transfer requests, and applications for changes to voter registration particulars.
Despite the temporary interruption, the IEBC assured Kenyans that physical voter registration services remain fully operational. Voters can continue to register at constituency offices, Huduma Centres, and the commission's headquarters at Anniversary Towers without interruption.
The commission said the system upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of its digital services. It urged members of the public to be patient while the maintenance is completed and noted that normal online services will resume once the upgrade is finalized.
The IEBC has not indicated how long the disruption is expected to last.
