Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his nationwide mobilisation drive for the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), positioning the party as a growing political force ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua, who is the DCP party leader, led a series of engagements in Embu County, where he officially opened the party’s county office in Embu Town and held meetings with residents in Mbeere North and Manyatta constituencies.

The former Deputy President said strengthening party structures across the country was central to building a grassroots movement anchored on citizen participation, inclusivity and responsive leadership.

“The DCP Party remains the party of the moment, continually strengthening grassroots engagement,” Gachagua said during the inauguration of the Embu office.

He said the party would continue creating platforms where Kenyans can actively participate in shaping the country’s political direction.

“Our party remains committed to listening to the people of Kenya and fostering a truly inclusive and responsive approach to leadership,” he said.

During his tour of Siakago in Mbeere North Constituency, Gachagua reiterated his call for unity, saying his commitment to what he described as a better Kenya remained firm despite political challenges.

“Our resolve for a better Kenya remains resolute, and no amount of distraction will deter us from that commitment,” he said.

The former Deputy President urged Kenyans to unite around a common purpose of improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for citizens.

“United for a purpose, to make Kenya a better place to live, work, and thrive,” he said.

He thanked residents of Siakago for their resilience and determination, maintaining that the Mt Kenya region would remain united and play a significant role in the country’s political future.

“Mt. Kenya will remain united and strong,” Gachagua said.

In Manyatta Constituency, the DCP leader said residents had embraced the party’s message of citizen empowerment and greater public participation in governance.

Addressing residents of Gathangariri, Gachagua said Kenyans, particularly those from the mountain region, had a responsibility to take part in shaping the nation’s future.

“The people of Kenya, especially those in the mountain region, bear a significant responsibility to restore and rewrite the injustices inflicted by this regime,” he said.

He thanked residents of Manyatta for their support and assurances, promising that DCP would continue engaging communities across the country.

The Embu visit is part of DCP’s wider grassroots expansion strategy as the party seeks to establish a national footprint ahead of the next General Election.

With political parties increasingly focusing on grassroots networks and voter mobilisation, Gachagua’s tour signals DCP’s ambition to move beyond regional politics and present itself as a national alternative built around citizen engagement and accountability.
