Members of Parliament and senators allied to the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) turned up in party colours on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, as the party's first Member of Parliament-elect, Sammy Douglas Kamau Ngotho, prepared to take the oath of office at the National Assembly.
Videos shared by Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia ahead of the swearing-in ceremony showed the leaders dressed in the party's signature green attire in a display of unity and solidarity.
Male legislators wore green blazers paired with grey trousers, while their female counterparts donned green blazers and skirts. Some, including Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, opted for green trousers as part of the coordinated outfit.
Ahead of the ceremony, the leaders gathered outside Parliament Buildings for a group photograph before chanting party slogans associated with the opposition and its anti-incumbency campaign.
Ngotho's swearing-in follows his victory in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, where he secured the seat on a DCP ticket, marking the party's first parliamentary representation.
The ceremony comes as DCP continues to consolidate its presence ahead of the 2027 General Election, with party leaders portraying the Ol Kalou victory as a significant milestone in its political growth.
