The Wiper Patriotic Front has issued a final reminder to politicians seeking its ticket in the 2027 General Election, directing all prospective candidates, including sitting elected leaders, to complete their registration by Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
In a statement released on Monday, November 2, the party said the deadline applied to both first-time aspirants and incumbent leaders intending to defend their seats or contest different positions under its ticket.
Wiper warned that no candidate would be exempt from the registration exercise, emphasising that all interested politicians must complete the process before the stated deadline.
The party said the exercise forms part of its preparations for nominations ahead of the August 10, 2027 General Election, adding that the process was intended to support free, fair and transparent selection of candidates.
How Wiper Aspirants Can Register
Wiper has directed prospective candidates to submit their applications through its online registration portal.
Applicants are required to provide personal information, including their national identification number, full names, telephone number and date of birth. They must also specify the county, constituency and ward where they intend to contest.
The application process further requires aspirants to select their preferred elective or nomination category and indicate whether they are registered members of the party. Candidates must also declare whether they currently hold elected or nominated positions.
Wiper Registration Fees for 2027 Aspirants
The party has established different registration fees depending on the elective position and the applicant's category.
Those seeking gubernatorial positions are required to pay KSh50,000, while women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are eligible for a reduced fee of KSh25,000.
Senatorial, National Assembly and Woman Representative aspirants are required to pay KSh20,000. Eligible women, youth and PWD applicants seeking these positions pay KSh10,000.
For Member of County Assembly positions, the standard registration fee is KSh10,000, while women, youth and PWD aspirants are required to pay KSh5,000.
The party has also included individuals seeking nomination through its party lists in the registration exercise.
Wiper Previously Extended Registration Deadline
The November 3 cutoff follows an earlier extension of the registration period after the party initially invited prospective candidates to submit their applications in September.
On September 1, Wiper announced that individuals interested in contesting various positions under its ticket in the 2027 General Election were expected to register by October 3.
A separate notice issued on September 14 specifically reminded elected leaders serving under the party that they were required to register by October 2 if they intended to contest in the next election.
However, on October 5, the party announced an extension of the registration period to November 3, covering aspirants seeking elective positions as well as those interested in party-list nominations.
The latest announcement therefore serves as the party's final reminder following the extension.
Registration Does Not Guarantee a Wiper Ticket
Wiper has clarified that completing the registration process does not automatically guarantee an aspirant the party's nomination certificate.
Registered candidates will still be required to participate in the party's nomination process before securing the opportunity to represent Wiper in the 2027 General Election.
The party, led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, is preparing to field candidates for national and county elective positions, alongside individuals seeking nomination through party lists.
The registration exercise is intended to establish the pool of politicians interested in seeking the party's support as preparations for the next election gather pace.
With the November 3 deadline in place, both new aspirants and incumbent politicians seeking to pursue their political ambitions under the Wiper banner have been directed to complete the required applications within the stipulated period.
