Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of hypocrisy over his remarks on political party protection. Speaking on the former Head of State’s criticism, Mudavadi noted that Uhuru, as Jubilee party leader, had dissolved 12 parties—including UDF, TNA, and URP—into Jubilee in 2015 and 2016.
“It is dishonest for Uhuru to talk about protecting political parties when he forced some to join Azimio in the 2022 general election,” Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi also addressed Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, clarifying that his call for a referendum aligns with fulfilling the 10-Point Agenda under the Broad-Based Government.
He challenged Sifuna to support the referendum, stating, “If Senator Sifuna is genuine about strengthening democratic processes, he should back these calls rather than opposing them.”
