Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula has announced the renewal of a political alliance with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and CS Wycliffe Oparanya to consolidate support for President William Ruto in Western Kenya and position the Luhya community ahead of the 2032 succession.
The announcement came during the burial of former Councillor Johnstone Barasa in Kiminini, where Wetang’ula urged former CS Eugene Wamalwa to join the pact, emphasizing that unity would enhance the delivery of the Mulembe Nation vote.
The pact comes as the Tawe movement _headed by Governor Natembeya-gains ground in Western Kenya and as wrangles emerge within ODM, presenting a window for leaders aligned with President Ruto to consolidate regional support.
Speaking to mourners, Wetang’ula called for an end to confrontational politics and appealed to young people to engage responsibly on social media. “The renewal of this alliance demonstrates our commitment to teamwork and the prosperity of the Luhya community,” he said.
