Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has strongly condemned the incident that occurred at Witima ACK Church in Othaya, Nyeri County, describing it as unfortunate and unacceptable.
In a statement issued following the incident, Sudi expressed his sympathies to the church leadership and congregants affected by the disruption, noting that places of worship should remain sanctuaries of peace and unity.
At the same time, the legislator accused Wamunyoro and his associates of allegedly orchestrating the violence for what he termed as “cheap political gain.” Sudi claimed that such actions are meant to inflame tensions and score political points at the expense of public harmony.
He called for restraint among political actors and urged leaders to avoid dragging religious institutions into political confrontations, warning that doing so threatens social cohesion and undermines respect for faith-based spaces.
Sudi reiterated the need for peaceful political engagement and accountability, emphasizing that violence has no place in Kenya’s democratic process.
