President William Ruto on Friday said his administration is implementing the commitments outlined in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto presented to voters during the 2022 General Election, insisting his government remains focused on economic transformation and inclusive development.
Speaking after meeting leaders from Kwale County at the Kwale State Lodge, President Ruto said his administration was prioritising agriculture, job creation for young people, universal healthcare and access to affordable credit for low-income Kenyans.
“My administration is implementing the manifesto our political party presented to the people of Kenya in the 2022 General Election,” President Ruto said. “We are transforming agricultural production, creating jobs for young people, providing universal healthcare, and making affordable credit available to those at the bottom of the pyramid.”
The President said the government was also investing heavily in economic expansion and infrastructure development across the country, including the construction of dual carriageways, railways, airports and ports to support trade and mobility.
In Kwale County, President Ruto outlined a series of development projects valued at Sh13 billion, targeting housing, trade and education infrastructure. He said the government was constructing affordable housing units, modern markets, and hostels for college and university students to ease accommodation challenges.
He added that the government was also spending Sh1.4 billion to connect 15,000 households in the county to electricity as part of efforts to improve living standards and spur economic activity.
The meeting was attended by Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Members of Parliament, Members of County Assembly and other local leaders, who discussed development priorities and the implementation of national government projects in the county.
President Ruto said his administration would continue working closely with county leaders to ensure development projects respond to local needs and deliver tangible benefits to residents.
