Edwin Sifuna has declared that the upcoming Linda Mwananchi manifesto will focus on values and the rule of law rather than high-profile infrastructure projects.
Speaking on a local TV station on Tuesday,Sifuna said Kenya’s main challenge is not the absence of physical development but deeper governance issues.
“Our manifesto will not be about stadiums and shiny things. Kenya has a software problem,” Sifuna stated.
He explained that the Linda Mwananchi agenda will address what he termed as systemic failures, including weak institutions, disregard for constitutionalism, and erosion of public accountability. According to him, sustainable national progress can only be achieved by strengthening the rule of law and restoring integrity in public service.
Sifuna’s remarks signal a shift toward an ideology-driven campaign message as political realignments continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 General Election. By framing Kenya’s challenges as a “software problem,” he suggested that leadership values and governance reforms should take precedence over visible but short-term infrastructure projects.
The Linda Mwananchi movement, he indicated, will centre its platform on institutional reforms and the protection of democratic principles.
