President William Samoei Ruto on Tuesday stepped up political engagements in Tharaka-Nithi County as the country edges closer to the 2027 General Election, promising accelerated development projects in the region.
Speaking after meeting a delegation of county leaders at State House Nairobi, Dr Ruto said his administration’s national transformation agenda would leave no part of the country behind.
“Our national transformation is leaving no part of Kenya behind. In Tharaka-Nithi County, we are changing the lives of residents by building more roads, modern markets, affordable housing, and connecting households to electricity,” he said.
The President said the government is also boosting the dairy sector by supplying additional milk coolers to match rising production and help farmers secure better returns.
“We are providing more coolers to meet high milk production and ensure that farmers get better prices,” he added.
He also announced plans to construct a safer and modern Nithi Bridge to improve transport and enhance safety along the busy route.
The delegation was led by Governor Muthomi Njuki and included MPs, the senator and Members of the County Assembly.
The meeting is part of a series of political consultations by the President as he consolidates support in various counties ahead of the 2027 polls, with development projects taking centre stage in his re-election messaging.
