In a public notice published in the Daily Nation on Thursday, March 5, the selection panel based at the Office of the Governor announced vacancies for one chairperson and five board members.
Successful candidates will serve on six-year non-renewable contracts as part of the county’s public service board. The recruitment exercise is being conducted in accordance with Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Sections 57 and 58 of the County Governments Act 2012.
The panel asked interested candidates to submit their applications by Wednesday, March 25.
Applicants are required to provide an application letter accompanied by a curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials, a copy of their national identity card or passport, and any other relevant supporting documents.
All applications must be physically delivered to the Office of the Governor and addressed to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel at the Executive Office of the Governor, County Government of Uasin Gishu in Eldoret.
The county government emphasised that it is an equal opportunity employer and encouraged applications from women, youth and persons living with disabilities.
Meanwhile, career development expert Simon Ingari advised job seekers to adequately prepare before attending interviews.
Speaking during an interview, Ingari recommended that candidates research the organisation beforehand to understand its mission, objectives, leadership and recent developments.
He also encouraged applicants to clearly explain their motivation for seeking the position and how their skills and experience can benefit the organisation.
According to him, demonstrating knowledge of the institution and articulating one’s value during interviews can significantly increase a candidate’s chances of success.
