The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) today hosted a delegation from Governance Hub Africa, led by Executive Director Brenda Isabel, for a courtesy visit aimed at exploring strategic collaboration. The delegation was received by IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon, who briefed them on key achievements since assuming office.
Ethekon highlighted the successful conduct of by-elections on 29th November 2025 and 26th February 2026, and ongoing preparations for the upcoming 4th May 2026 by-election. He also outlined the launch of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) on 30th March 2026, designed to expand voter registration access at the ward level.
“The Commission cannot conduct elections in isolation. We rely on partnerships with stakeholders of goodwill to strengthen democratic processes and uphold the integrity of our elections,” Ethekon said.
Brenda Isabel said Governance Hub Africa operates at the intersection of democratic governance, elections, digital innovation, policy advisory, and institutional reform. She expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting the Commission, citing potential areas of collaboration including civic empowerment, inclusive participation, electoral integrity, digital democracy, civic tech solutions, and research and capacity building.
Both parties reaffirmed the importance of partnerships in promoting credible, inclusive, and technology-driven electoral processes across the country.
