Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged continued engagement with citizens and a renewed push to address their concerns as he intensifies grassroots outreach in Kiambu County.
Speaking after meeting residents of Gakoe in Gatundu North Constituency, Gachagua sought to reassure Kenyans of his commitment to inclusive leadership, promising not to abandon their expectations.
“We want to assure the people of Kenya that we will not let you down. Instead, we are committed to turning your dreams into reality,” he said.
The former Deputy President emphasized unity and collective progress, saying his political approach would prioritize inclusivity and shared responsibility. “We will walk this journey together, ensuring that no one is left behind as we continue our pursuit of liberation,” he added.
His remarks come against the backdrop of increasing political realignments in the Mount Kenya region, where leaders are intensifying efforts to consolidate influence ahead of future electoral contests. The region has remained a key political battleground, with shifting loyalties and emerging factions seeking to redefine its role in national politics.
Gachagua has in recent months stepped up his public engagements, framing his message around economic empowerment, accountability, and closer engagement with ordinary citizens at the grassroots level. His allies say the outreach is aimed at strengthening community ties and amplifying local concerns on governance and development.
He concluded by thanking residents for their reception and participation in the engagement. “A heartfelt thank you to the people of Gakoe… for engaging with us,” he said.
The renewed political activity signals an ongoing effort by the former Deputy President to remain a central voice in national discourse as the country’s political landscape continues to evolve.
