The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has urged Kenyans to exercise caution and verify any information circulating about the upcoming by-elections scheduled for Thursday, November 27.
In a statement, the Commission emphasized that all official updates on the electoral process—including candidate lists, polling locations, and results—are available only on its official website, www.iebc.or.ke, and through its verified social media platforms.
The advisory comes amid growing concerns over misinformation and fake news ahead of the nationwide by-elections, which cover 23 seats, including six parliamentary constituencies, one Senate seat, and multiple county assembly wards. IEBC said voters should rely solely on its official channels to ensure accurate information and avoid being misled.
“Your vote is your future,” the Commission said, reinforcing the importance of a well-informed electorate. It encouraged the public to report any suspicious messages or claims to IEBC to protect the credibility of the electoral process.
