Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has condoled with East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega following the death of his mother, Mama Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u.
In a condolence message released on Saturday, Gachagua said he had received news of her death with profound sadness, revealing that he had only recently assigned Kega duties in the United Kingdom before the legislator learnt of the loss.
“It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother only for you to arrive and receive the sad news,” Gachagua said.
The former Deputy President described the late Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u as a hardworking family matriarch who played a major role in educating her children and supporting her community.
He said her kindness and generosity had left a lasting impact on residents in her village.
“The loss of a mother is painful; may God grant you and your family strength to bear the loss,” Gachagua said in his message to the family of Simon Ndung’u Mutitu.
Gachagua also extended condolences to members of the Women’s Guild of PCEA Mwiyogo Parish, where the deceased served actively and supported church development initiatives over the years.
He said his family would continue praying for the bereaved family as they prepare to give Mama Ann a befitting send-off.
Kanini Kega, a former Kieni MP and close ally of President William Ruto before his recent political realignments, currently serves as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly.
“May the soul of Mama Ann rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her forever,” Gachagua said.
