Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has ruled out joining President William Ruto’s government, declaring that he has no intention of working with what he described as a “predator regime”.

Kalonzo, who spoke at Kyumbi Junction along Mombasa Road, said his political commitment remained with the opposition’s push to remove the Kenya Kwanza administration from power and establish a government that prioritises the interests of ordinary Kenyans.

“To those who keep asking whether I will join the predator regime: thanks, but no thanks. I am not joining the predator regime,” Kalonzo declared.

The former Vice-President said his position was informed by the kind of leadership he wanted to see in the country, insisting that his Ukombozi movement was built around accountability, economic recovery and restoring dignity to Kenyans.

He said the movement was not simply a political slogan but a commitment to address the challenges facing citizens across the country.

“The Kenya we are building, through the Ukombozi movement, is one where leadership serves the people. It is a Kenya where corruption has no place and where every Kenyan, in Kyumbi, in Mombasa, in Kitui, in Turkana, has a real chance to thrive,” he said.

Kalonzo's remarks come amid continuing political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election, with the opposition seeking to consolidate its ranks against Ruto's re-election bid.

His categorical rejection of working with the President also signals his intention to maintain a separate political path rather than pursue negotiations that could see him join the government.

The Wiper leader further insisted that national unity remained central to his political agenda, saying the country needed leadership capable of rebuilding the economy and restoring public confidence in government.

“Our commitment to unity is not up for negotiation. Together, we shall restore hope, rebuild our economy, restore dignity, and deliver a government that puts the interests of Kenyans first,” he said.

He maintained that the Ukombozi movement was intended to reach Kenyans across political and regional boundaries, including those who feel excluded from the country's economic opportunities.

“Ukombozi is not a slogan. It is a promise to every Kenyan who has been left behind,” Kalonzo said.

He ended his address with a rallying call for political change, telling residents of Kyumbi Junction that the country could be liberated through a collective effort.

“Pamoja tutakomboa Kenya. WANTAM!” he declared.
