Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has emerged as Kenya's highest-rated MP in the latest Infotrak leadership survey, displacing Kiharu legislator Ndindi Nyoro from the top spot.
The nationwide survey, released on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, gave Owino an approval rating of 80 per cent, making him the country's best-performing Member of Parliament based on public perception.
Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga ranked second with a 78 per cent approval rating, while Ndindi Nyoro shared third position with Taveta MP John Bwire after both legislators recorded a 76 per cent rating.
Nyoro's drop marks a notable shift from previous Infotrak surveys, where the Kiharu MP consistently ranked among the country's top-performing lawmakers, often occupying the first position or closely trailing Owino.
The latest rankings reflect changing public perceptions of parliamentary performance as political leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to Infotrak, the survey evaluated Members of Parliament based on citizens' assessment of their leadership, representation, service delivery, and overall performance in office.
Beyond the National Assembly, the survey also assessed the performance of Senators and Women Representatives, providing a broader picture of public confidence in elected leaders across the country.
The findings are expected to influence political discourse as legislators seek to strengthen their standing with constituents ahead of the next electoral cycle, with opinion polls increasingly becoming a barometer of public satisfaction and leadership performance.
