Political analyst Herman Manyora has advised Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro to align himself with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), warning that failure to do so could cost him his parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Manyora argued that strong development records do not always guarantee re-election, noting that several lawmakers have previously lost their seats despite delivering significant projects to their constituents.
According to the analyst, Nyoro remained politically non-committal for too long as the political dynamics in the Mt Kenya region evolved, leaving him in a difficult position ahead of the next election.
Manyora maintained that the Kiharu legislator's best political option would be to reconcile with Gachagua and formally join the DCP.
“I’ve told you the only thing he can do is to fall at the feet of Gachagua. He has to appease Gachagua, praise DCP, actually even join DCP, otherwise that Kiharu seat he will lose it with all the things he has done. He won't be the first MP to be voted out after doing wonderful things,” Manyora said.
Political analyst Patrick Muchendu echoed the sentiments, warning that Nyoro's continued fence-sitting could portray him as indecisive in the eyes of voters.
Muchendu also cautioned the youthful MP against attempting to launch a new political party ahead of the 2027 General Election, arguing that the Mt Kenya political space is already dominated by established parties competing for support.
According to Muchendu, forming a new political outfit at this stage would face significant challenges and may struggle to gain traction among voters.
The analysts' remarks come days after Nyoro hinted that he was preparing to unveil a major political move that could reshape Kenya's political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls.
The Kiharu MP revealed that he has been quietly working on a new political direction for several months and asked Kenyans to give him up to four weeks before making a public announcement on his next course of action.
Nyoro's anticipated declaration has fueled speculation about his political future, particularly as realignments continue to gather momentum in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
