Political activist Morara Kebaso has dismissed reports suggesting a fallout within former Interior Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i’s political camp.
Kebaso was responding to a report published by a local daily that alleged there was unease within Matiang’i’s camp over the deployment of several leaders to support Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s political activities.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Borabu 2027 parliamentary hopeful insisted that there was “no unease or discomfort” among those backing Matiang’i’s anticipated 2027 presidential bid.
“There is no unease or discomfort. We are realigning our troops for the second leg of Dr Fred Matiang’i’s new phase of the campaign that is about to begin,” Kebaso said.
He explained that the team had intentionally assigned several Members of Parliament and a senator from the Gusii region to support Sifuna during recent political engagements.
“We had donated some MPs and a senator from our region to assist in propping up Sifuna. They have done a great job. But now we miss them,” he stated.
Kebaso added that the leaders had now been requested to return and focus on Matiang’i’s expanding national campaign.
“We have requested them to report back to base. If they come back, we will be happy. If they choose to stay where they are, we will not miss them,” he said.
His remarks come amid increased political realignments and coalition-building efforts ahead of the 2027 General Election.
