Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Mwengi Mutuse has urged Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka to reconsider his political position and consider working with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the handover of the Kiaoni Police Post and a public meeting at Kiaoni Market in Makueni County on July 23, 2026, Mutuse said Kenya’s political landscape requires leaders to make strategic decisions based on long-term interests.
The lawmaker encouraged Kalonzo to explore possible cooperation with the government before what he described as political opportunities become limited.
“Siasa ya Kenya inataka kujipanga na kuona mbali. Tunataka tumwulize Kalonzo Musyoka, kabla hii mlango ya William Ruto haijafungwa, njoo tufanye kazi pamoja,” Mutuse said.
Mutuse argued that political alliances continue to shape Kenya’s future and advised leaders to remain open to partnerships that can benefit their supporters and communities.
He said the country’s political environment is constantly changing as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The remarks come amid intensified political realignments, with various leaders across the country engaging in discussions and building alliances ahead of the next election cycle.
