Former impeached Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has joined the Linda Mwananchi movement as it kicks off a series of political rallies in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties.
Photos shared on Saturday, July 25, 2026, by Linda Mwananchi spokesperson and Suba South MP Karoli Omondi, alongside Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, showed Mwangaza with opposition leaders ahead of the rallies.
The images captured the leaders displaying the movement’s signature hand symbols while interacting with supporters in Kitale before the political engagements.
“A warm welcome to Her Excellency Governor Kawira Mwangaza in Kitale, Trans Nzoia. One Team, One Mission,” Karoli Omondi wrote.
Mwangaza’s participation comes days after she formally aligned herself with the Linda Mwananchi movement following a consultative meeting with the coalition’s leaders in Nairobi.
Her entry into the opposition outfit adds to the growing list of political figures joining the movement as it expands its nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The Linda Mwananchi team had initially planned to hold political rallies in Meru after completing engagements in Kisii and Thika. However, the Meru events were postponed to a later date for undisclosed reasons.
The Western Kenya rallies are part of the movement’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots support and coordinate opposition activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
