Borabu parliamentary aspirant Morara Kebaso has claimed that Jubilee Party's 2027 presidential hopeful Fred Matiang'i met more than 10,000 opinion shapers across the Mt Kenya region last week as part of his grassroots mobilisation strategy.
In a post shared on his X account on Monday, July 26, 2026, Kebaso praised Matiang'i's political approach, describing him as a calculated and strategic leader preparing for the 2027 presidential race.
“I never knew that Dr Fred Matiang’i is such a lethal and strategic politician,” Kebaso wrote.
“Last week alone, he met over 10,000 key opinion shapers in different meetings across the Mt Kenya region,” he added.
Kebaso said the engagements demonstrated that Matiang'i was quietly building support on the ground before formally intensifying his presidential campaign.
However, he did not provide a breakdown of the meetings or attendance records to support the claim that more than 10,000 opinion shapers participated.
By the time of publication, Matiang'i's campaign had also not independently released figures or documentation confirming the cumulative attendance cited by Kebaso.
The remarks come as political leaders continue to intensify grassroots mobilisation and coalition-building ahead of the 2027 General Election.
