Sirisia Member of Parliament John Koyi Waluke has vowed to support his Westlands counterpart, Tim Wanyonyi, in his bid for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat, regardless of the political party under which he contests.
Waluke's remarks come just days after Wanyonyi aligned himself with the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi political movement, an outfit the Sirisia legislator has previously criticised.
Speaking in a video shared on his social media platforms on Friday, July 31, 2026, the outspoken MP, who also serves as one of President William Ruto's key campaign mobilisers in the Western region, said his support for Wanyonyi remains unchanged despite their differing political affiliations.
Waluke, who has been among Wanyonyi's strongest campaigners, maintained that Bungoma County is ready for new leadership under the Westlands legislator.
“We are not concerned about the party Tim Wanyonyi will come with; we will support him in whichever outfit he comes with because he is the right person to be Bungoma governor,” Waluke said.
His remarks signal growing political realignments in Western Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election, where leaders are increasingly indicating a willingness to back candidates across party lines.
