The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the colours of ballot papers and corresponding ballot box lids that will be used during the 2027 General Election.
In a post shared on its social media platforms, the electoral commission said each ballot paper will have a corresponding ballot box lid of the same colour to help voters and election officials distinguish between the six elective positions.
The presidential ballot paper and ballot box lid will be white, while those for Members of the National Assembly will be green.
The yellow colour will be used for the Senatorial position, while light blue will represent the gubernatorial ballot paper and ballot box.
For the Woman Representative position, IEBC has designated purple, while beige will be used for Members of the County Assembly.
The colour-coded system is intended to make it easier for voters and election officials to identify and correctly handle ballot papers for each of the six elective positions during the election.
The six positions to be contested in the 2027 General Election are the President, Governor, Senator, Member of the National Assembly, Woman Representative and Member of the County Assembly.
IEBC also urged Kenyans who have not yet registered as voters to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise by visiting constituency offices and Huduma Centres across the country.
The commission continues to undertake preparations for the 2027 General Election as it works to strengthen voter registration, public awareness and electoral preparedness ahead of the polls.
