Gatundu South Member of Parliament Gabriel Kagombe has announced plans to release 400 videos highlighting what he describes as unfulfilled promises made by President William Ruto during his political campaigns.
Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Thursday, August 13, 2026, Kagombe accused the President of misleading Kenyans over pledges made during his campaigns.
The lawmaker said he had a collection of videos that he intends to publish as part of a daily series examining Ruto’s campaign promises.
“In fact, let me tell you, there are videos I can show you of how William Ruto lied to Kenyans. Ruto has 400 videos, and I will unveil a series where every morning I will be releasing a video after the other,” Kagombe said.
If released consecutively at a rate of one video per day, the planned series would run for more than a year.
Kagombe did not provide details of all the promises he intends to feature or specify when the first video will be published.
The Gatundu South MP also confirmed that he does not intend to defend his parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket in the 2027 General Election.
Kagombe, who has increasingly distanced himself from the ruling party, said he had not yet decided which political party he would use to seek re-election.
“I don’t know which political party I will use, but I know I cannot defend my seat via UDA. So, we begin by things we know currently, then we proceed,” he said.
The legislator also indicated that his political differences with Ruto had deepened, saying the President would not receive his vote in the next presidential election.
“The one thing I know is that we start by knowing. For instance, I know the person I will not vote for the president, William Ruto, will not see my vote,” Kagombe said.
His remarks point to a growing political shift ahead of the 2027 General Election, with some leaders who previously supported the Kenya Kwanza administration reconsidering their political affiliations and future alliances.
Kagombe’s decision to rule out the UDA ticket leaves open the possibility of him joining another political formation as he seeks to retain the Gatundu South parliamentary seat.
