In a post shared on X, Alinur stated that the two lawmakers would headline the political movement’s presidential ticket, although he did not provide details or evidence to support the claim.
“The Linda Mwananchi presidential candidate will be Edwin Sifuna and his running mate will be Ndindi Nyoro,” Alinur wrote.
The claim comes amid growing political activity surrounding Linda Mwananchi, which has been expanding its grassroots mobilisation across the country under Sifuna’s leadership.
The movement has recently attracted political figures from different opposition formations as it seeks to establish a broader political base ahead of the 2027 General Election. Sifuna has also emerged as one of the most prominent figures associated with the movement, while leaders have indicated that Linda Mwananchi could eventually transform into a fully-fledged political party.
However, the reported Sifuna-Nyoro ticket had not been formally announced by Linda Mwananchi at the time of publication. The claim therefore remains an unconfirmed political assertion.
