Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, Kalasinga said the growing contributions demonstrated increasing public support for the movement.
“Our Paybill has reached over Ksh17 million; we can now go to Meru without mobilising funds among ourselves,” he said.
Kalasinga further claimed that contributions increase whenever President William Ruto visits Western Kenya or his allies distribute financial assistance to residents. He alleged that some residents who receive government handouts subsequently redirect part of the money towards supporting Linda Mwananchi activities.
The Kabuchai lawmaker said the funds would help the movement finance its political engagements as it expands its presence across the country.
Sifuna unveils Linda Mwananchi PayBill
The claims come weeks after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna appealed to Kenyans to financially support Linda Mwananchi and unveiled a PayBill number through which supporters could make contributions.
Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General encouraged Kenyans to contribute whatever amount they could afford, saying even small donations would help sustain the movement's activities.
Sifuna said the financial contributions had already enabled Linda Mwananchi to undertake several activities as the movement seeks to build a national political base ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kalasinga's latest claims come as Linda Mwananchi steps up its grassroots mobilisation, with the movement preparing for a major rally in Meru on August 30, 2026.
