In a statement shared on his X account on Thursday, August 20, 2026, Gachagua, who leads DCP, said the party was expanding rapidly and establishing a presence across the country.
“Our Party DCP continues to grow exponentially and beyond expectations,” Gachagua said while announcing the inauguration of the Murang’a County DCP Party Office.
“We are moving at supersonic speed to transform this country for the better,” he added.
The opening of the Murang’a office comes as Gachagua steps up efforts to strengthen DCP structures at the grassroots. The party has recently indicated that its immediate priority is expanding its support base rather than engaging in coalition negotiations.
Gachagua is also scheduled to lead DCP supporters in a thanksgiving rally in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County, on Friday, August 21, as the party continues its grassroots mobilisation drive.
The Emurua Dikirr visit carries political significance for Gachagua after DCP candidate Vincent Kibet Rotich finished second in the May 14 by-election won by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate David Kipsang Keter.
Gachagua has maintained a strong political interest in the constituency, with the upcoming gathering expected to serve both as a thanksgiving rally and as part of DCP’s “Skiza WaKenya” grassroots campaign.

The planned rally has, however, triggered a fresh security dispute between Gachagua and the National Police Service, adding another dimension to the DCP leader’s growing political activities.
The former Deputy President’s latest engagements underscore his strategy of building DCP’s presence from the grassroots as he positions the party for a bigger role in Kenya’s political contest ahead of the 2027 General Election.
