The campaign truck is painted in Wiper’s signature colours and features images of party leader and presidential flag bearer Kalonzo Musyoka.
Dubbed the Ukombozi Caravan, the truck is expected to travel across the country as Wiper seeks to popularise its political message and strengthen its structures ahead of the next election.
The blue-and-white design also bears similarities to the colours associated with the Linda Mwananchi campaign truck, which has become a recognisable feature of the movement’s grassroots activities.
In a statement shared on its social media platforms, Wiper said the caravan would traverse the country while taking its Ukombozi message directly to Kenyans.
“This afternoon, our Party Leader received the Ukombozi Caravan, a campaign truck that will traverse the country, taking the Ukombozi message to Kenyans across the nation,” the party said.
Kalonzo launches Ukombozi Caravan
Kalonzo was accompanied during the unveiling by Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Chairperson Jamleck Kamau, WPF Secretary-General Shakila Abdalla, Executive Director Benson Milai, party spokesperson Ndegwa Njiru, National Executive Council officials and elected members.
The party said the Ukombozi Caravan would take its message to Kenyans county by county and constituency by constituency, in a strategy aimed at increasing Wiper’s visibility at the grassroots.
The launch also signals Wiper’s intention to move beyond traditional political rallies and adopt more sustained grassroots mobilisation as the 2027 election approaches.
Campaign caravans become popular
The unveiling comes as political parties and movements increasingly turn to branded trucks and caravans to strengthen their grassroots campaigns.
Linda Mwananchi and DCP have prominently used campaign trucks during their political tours, with the vehicles carrying sound systems and campaign branding as leaders move from one region to another.
Jubilee Party has also embraced a similar strategy as political formations seek new ways of reaching voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The growing popularity of campaign caravans has also exposed political movements to new security challenges. DCP and Linda Mwananchi campaign trucks have previously been targeted during political rallies, including incidents involving stone-throwing.
With Wiper now joining the trend, the Ukombozi Caravan is expected to become a central feature of Kalonzo Musyoka’s nationwide campaign as he seeks to position himself as a leading opposition candidate in the 2027 presidential race.
