Speaking during a UDA polling centre grassroots delegates meeting at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County, where more than 3,000 grassroots delegates were hosted, Kindiki said the Kenya Kwanza administration was ready to face voters and defend its record.
“These are people who failed. They cannot account for their time in office,” Kindiki said, taking aim at leaders who have turned against the government ahead of the 2027 polls.
Kindiki targets Gachagua
Kindiki also directly criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of failing to support President William Ruto in implementing the Kenya Kwanza manifesto while serving as his deputy.
According to Kindiki, Gachagua instead began positioning himself as a political competitor to Ruto while still in office, rather than concentrating on helping the administration deliver on its promises to Kenyans.
“Mimi ndio nasukumia Rais kazi. Alikuwa na mtu mwingine hapo akamwambia amsaidie kazi. Badala ya kumsaidia kazi ndio wananchi waone vile manifesto inatekelezwa, akaanza kushindana na Raisi anasema hata yeye ni Rais,” Kindiki said.
Kindiki said Gachagua was subsequently removed from office and accused him of continuing to criticise the government after leaving office.
“Amefukuzwa saa hii analia huko msituni. Anazurura huko, na anaongeaongea mambo yangu. Let him concentrate on his things,” he said.
Kindiki's remarks come as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, with President Ruto's administration facing growing criticism from opposition figures and former allies seeking to influence the country's next political contest.
The Deputy President maintained that the government would continue engaging voters and highlighting what it considers achievements under the Kenya Kwanza administration, while challenging its political opponents to explain their own records in public office.
