Governor Kimani Wamatangi has opted to keep his political plans under wraps for now, telling residents that the time will come for him to reveal which political outfit he intends to work with.
Speaking in Misri, Limuru East, on Tuesday, Wamatangi said he had deliberately avoided making party politics the centre of his leadership.
According to the governor, residents should first examine his performance in office and the development projects delivered under his administration before making political judgments.
'Judge Me By My Work'
Wamatangi said he does not want to rely on political slogans or promises when seeking support from residents.
Instead, he wants his track record to form the basis of any future conversation about his political ambitions.
He maintained that his approach is to demonstrate what his administration has achieved before asking residents to consider his next political step.
The governor also confirmed that he has not formally joined a political party at the moment.
However, he made it clear that his lack of an official party affiliation does not mean he is undecided about where his political future lies.
Governor Says Announcement Will Come Later
Wamatangi indicated that he already knows the party he will eventually join but is choosing to keep the information private for now.
He asked residents to remain focused on the current leadership conversation, suggesting that his political announcement could come after a period of continued engagement with the people.
He pointed to November and January as periods when he expects to provide more clarity on his political direction.
For now, the governor appears keen to separate his development agenda from the early political manoeuvring that often dominates conversations ahead of elections.
