Amisi said opposition leaders should learn from Raila’s political history by converting their sizeable support base into a well-organised grassroots movement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“The reasons Baba missed the presidency despite decades of massive rallies are a little bit of disorganisation by his hedgemen,” Amisi said in a statement.
The lawmaker urged opposition leaders to examine lessons from previous political campaigns and strengthen their organisational structures to avoid repeating what he described as past mistakes.
“We must learn from history or risk repeating the same mistake. Those who will suffer out of our ignorance is the future generation whose hopes and aspirations we carry!” he added.
Why opposition needs grassroots structures
Amisi argued that opposition formations already have significant public support but need stronger grassroots organisation to translate those numbers into political influence.
“Let us organise our support base. The numbers are massive. They just need to be organised with proper grassroots structures,” he said.
His remarks come as opposition-linked political formations intensify grassroots mobilisation and party activities ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The Saboti MP’s comments place emphasis on the role of party structures, local coordination and organisation in translating public support into electoral participation as political actors prepare for the next polls.
