Former Westlands Member of Parliament Fred Gumo has held high-level consultative talks with a section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leaders at his home in Endebess, Trans Nzoia County.
The meeting brought together key ODM figures led by the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna. Other leaders present included ODM Deputy Party Leader and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, and Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe, underscoring the strategic importance of the engagement.
Taking to his social media platforms on Friday, December 26, 2025, Sifuna confirmed the meeting, noting that the leaders had been invited by the veteran politician for consultations at his farm. He described the discussions as insightful and valuable, particularly due to Gumo’s extensive experience in Kenya’s political landscape.
According to Sifuna, the ODM leaders benefited from Gumo’s deep understanding of party politics, governance, and grassroots mobilisation, lessons that remain relevant as the party prepares for future political contests. He added that the meeting provided an opportunity for reflection and reaffirmation of ODM’s shared values and objectives.
The consultative talks also focused on strengthening party unity and building momentum as ODM positions itself ahead of the 2027 General Election. Leaders in attendance reportedly agreed on the need for cohesion, strategic engagement with supporters, and drawing wisdom from seasoned politicians who have shaped the party’s journey.
Fred Gumo, a long-serving politician with decades of experience, has remained an influential figure within ODM circles. His decision to host senior party leaders highlights his continued relevance in shaping political thought and mentorship within the party.
The meeting signals ongoing internal consultations within ODM as the party seeks to consolidate its leadership, strengthen its structures, and chart a clear path forward in a rapidly evolving political environment.
