Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri has led a group of Kenya Kwanza MPs in strongly dismissing opposition criticism directed at President William Ruto’s administration. Speaking during a political gathering, Kiunjuri said the opposition’s constant attacks were aimed at undermining the government’s progress and misleading Kenyans.
He argued that despite the challenges facing the country, Ruto’s team has made visible efforts to stabilize the economy and address cost-of-living concerns. “Those criticizing the government should give it time to deliver. Transforming the country cannot happen overnight,” Kiunjuri reportedly said.
Unity Within Kenya Kwanza
The outspoken MP also called on fellow legislators from the ruling coalition to remain united and focused on development. He cautioned against internal divisions, saying unity within Kenya Kwanza is key to driving the government’s agenda forward.
Other MPs who accompanied Kiunjuri echoed his sentiments, describing opposition criticism as “baseless” and politically motivated. They maintained that the government’s ongoing reforms in agriculture, housing, and infrastructure are proof of its commitment to Kenyans.
Opposition’s Pushback
Opposition leaders, particularly from the Azimio coalition, have recently accused the Ruto administration of failing to deliver on its campaign promises and worsening economic hardship. However, Kenya Kwanza MPs insist that the reforms underway will yield results in due course.
