Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has faulted ongoing internal wrangles within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), arguing that the confusion and mixed signals emanating from the party are not accidental but carefully orchestrated.
In a statement shared on Monday, January 12, Amisi insisted that nothing in politics happens by mistake, describing current developments within ODM as a series of deliberate maneuvers meant to mislead party members.
“Nothing happens politically out of mistake. It is all planned,” Amisi stated.
He took aim at both factions within the party those who attended the recent Central Management Committee (CMC) meeting and those who skipped it accusing them of playing what he termed “cheap games” on ODM supporters. According to Amisi, the situation should have been straightforward, with clear and transparent communication.
“Odm; those who were present and those who missed CMC are all playing cheap games on members, otherwise we would have had two press conferences,” he said.
Amisi dismissed the unfolding drama as unnecessary and counterproductive, expressing frustration at what he described as political immaturity and deception.
“Yote ni ujinga tu,” he remarked, underscoring his displeasure with the state of affairs.
He further suggested that the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga popularly known as Baba would be deeply disappointed by the current conduct of party leaders, wherever he may be remembered.
“Baba is disappointed wherever he is,” Amisi said.
Concluding his remarks, the Saboti MP broadened his critique beyond ODM, arguing that Kenya as a whole is in need of a political rebirth anchored on honesty, integrity, and principled leadership.
“Kenya needs a renaissance,” Amisi declared.
His comments add to growing public concern over internal party discipline and leadership credibility, as political realignments intensify ahead of the next election cycle.
