Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has weighed in on recent political fallouts, saying disagreements among allies are a normal occurrence in politics and should not come as a surprise.
Kabando referenced several past political rifts to support his argument, singling out the fallout between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his former allies, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu and Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, as a notable example.
He observed that political partnerships often evolve and sometimes break down as interests shift, but emphasized that leaders should always maintain respect for individuals they have previously worked closely with.
While acknowledging that Wambugu and Wamuchomba may be raising legitimate concerns, Kabando argued that their apparent effort to publicly expose Gachagua appears to be influenced by their growing political alignment with President William Ruto.
Kabando further noted that the unfolding situation presents an opportunity for introspection, suggesting that Deputy President Gachagua may need to engage in soul-searching to address the allegations levelled against him.
He added that such reflection could help de-escalate tensions and potentially pave the way for mending the political rift, stressing that dialogue and mutual respect remain essential in navigating political disagreements.
Kabando’s remarks come amid heightened political realignments, reflecting the shifting dynamics within Kenya’s political landscape as leaders reassess alliances and positions.
