President William Ruto has nominated Mr. Francis Meja for appointment as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The nomination has been formally transmitted to the National Assembly, where Mr. Meja is expected to undergo the required parliamentary vetting process before a decision is made on his approval.
If approved by Parliament, Mr. Meja will take up the role of leading the PSC, a constitutional commission mandated to oversee human resource management in the public service, including appointments, promotions, discipline, and adherence to merit and values in public administration.
The appointment of the PSC chairperson is subject to parliamentary oversight in line with the Constitution, underscoring the role of the National Assembly in ensuring accountability and suitability of nominees to key public offices.
