The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has unveiled a detailed roadmap for its internal party activities, including repeat grassroots elections, high-level party meetings, and new structures aimed at managing rising interest from aspirants ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
According to the party, repeat elections will be conducted in select polling centers across 42 counties. Phase III elections are scheduled for March 7, 2026, while Phase II elections will take place on March 28, 2026. Registration for aspiring candidates seeking various positions for the Polling Center Congress has officially begun on the party’s website.
As part of these activities, UDA will convene a Special National Governing Council (NGC) meeting on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM at State House, Nairobi. The NGC brings together all UDA elected leaders, including Governors, Deputy Governors, Senators, Members of the National Assembly, Women Representatives, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) representatives, Members of County Assembly (MCAs), and nominated leaders. The meeting will be chaired by the party leader and President, William Samoei Ruto.
In preparation for the 2027 elections, the party’s National Steering Committee (NSC) has resolved to establish a UDA Aspirants Forum to accommodate the growing number of individuals seeking elective positions on the party’s ticket. To support this initiative, UDA has opened an aspirant registration portal starting today.
The inaugural UDA Aspirants Forum meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2026, at 8:00 AM, also at State House, Nairobi. The party indicated that a formal notice with further details will be issued in due course.
The announcements were made during a press briefing by UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar Hassan. He was flanked by National Chairperson Cecily Mbarire, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, members of the National Elections Board, the National Treasurer, Hon. Japhet Nyakundi, Deputy Vice Chair Anthony Mwaura, Kelvin Lunani, and party directors.
The developments underscore UDA’s early mobilization and organizational efforts as it seeks to strengthen party structures, streamline aspirant management, and consolidate its grassroots presence ahead of the next general election.
