Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has declared his intention to contest the Gatundu South Member of Parliament seat on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
In a brief statement, Kuria revealed that he has officially registered as an aspirant, marking a significant step toward re-entering elective politics ahead of the next general election.
“I’ve registered as an aspirant to vie for Gatundu South MP on UDA ticket,” Kuria stated.
The announcement positions Kuria for a potential political comeback in a constituency where he has previously wielded influence, having served as MP before his appointment to the Cabinet.
His move is expected to shake up local political dynamics in Gatundu South, with observers anticipating competitive party primaries within UDA given the constituency’s strategic importance.
Kuria’s declaration also comes amid broader realignments within the ruling party as leaders and former office holders position themselves early for the upcoming electoral cycle.
As the race takes shape, attention will turn to how Kuria mobilizes support on the ground and how UDA manages what is likely to be a closely watched contest in the Mt Kenya region.
