Antony Kaibuba has argued that senior politicians within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are uneasy about the growing influence of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino. According to Kaibuba, this concern stems from Babu’s increasing popularity among younger voters and his assertive political style, which he believes challenges the dominance of long-established party figures.
Kaibuba stated that this perceived sense of threat is the primary reason some leaders are reluctant to support Babu Owino for any significant party position. He maintained that Babu has demonstrated the political capability and public backing needed to shape the future of both ODM and national politics.
He further predicted that Babu Owino is on a trajectory toward higher office. Kaibuba expressed confidence that Babu would eventually become a governor and later ascend to the presidency, driven by what he described as strong grassroots support and a loyal youthful constituency.
Kaibuba’s remarks contribute to the ongoing internal discussions about leadership transitions within ODM and the evolving role of younger politicians in Kenya’s political landscape.
