Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on February 4, 2026, joined thousands of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants at State House, Nairobi, in a meeting widely seen as an early push toward the 2027 General Election.
The high-profile forum, hosted by President William Ruto, brought together more than 10,000 aspiring candidates and senior party leaders, underscoring UDA’s aggressive mobilisation and early campaign strategy.
Mudavadi, who also serves as Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, was seated alongside President Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and other senior government and party officials as they laid out campaign plans and party strategy.
His presence at the meeting came just days after he publicly dismissed a High Court ruling that questioned the dissolution of his former party, the Amani National Congress (ANC), further reinforcing his political shift and loyalty to UDA.
The gathering attracted leaders from across the country, including governors, senators, Members of Parliament, women representatives, and Members of County Assembly (MCAs), highlighting the breadth of UDA’s national reach.
Political observers view Mudavadi’s appearance at the State House meeting as a clear signal that he remains firmly embedded within President Ruto’s political camp, despite the legal and political questions surrounding ANC’s dissolution.
The meeting reflects increasing political activity as parties and leaders begin early positioning, mobilization, and consolidation ahead of the 2027 polls.
