Junet Mohamed has boldly declared that no political party in Kenya rivals the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in identifying and eliminating internal saboteurs, as the party intensifies nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Junet, who serves as Minority Leader in the National Assembly and represents Suna East, made the remarks during ODM popularisation tours in Lamu and Tana River on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
Junet warned that certain forces were attempting to infiltrate and manipulate the party from within using what he described as “rented moles.” He assured supporters that ODM has strong internal mechanisms capable of identifying and neutralising such threats.
“During today’s engagements, I took the opportunity to remind those insidious forces attempting to micromanage the ODM Party through their rented moles to forget it. No party in Kenya beats ODM in exposing and derailing internal saboteurs and sellouts,” Junet stated.
His remarks come at a time when ODM has been experiencing internal shifts and heightened political activity following leadership changes and growing preparations for the next general election.
Junet urged party members and supporters across the country to remain vigilant and actively safeguard the party’s unity, structures, and political vision. He emphasised that protecting the party is a collective responsibility shared by all loyal members.
He called on ODM faithful to remain engaged and committed to strengthening the party’s grassroots presence, noting that unity will be critical in positioning ODM for success in 2027.
“I urge all party faithful to stay vigilant and join us in keeping our party intact, active and ready,” he added.
The tours in coastal counties are part of ODM’s broader strategy to reinforce its grassroots support and consolidate its political base ahead of the next electoral cycle. Party leaders have been conducting nationwide engagements aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and mobilising supporters.
ODM remains one of Kenya’s most influential political parties, and its ongoing mobilisation signals its determination to remain competitive and united despite internal and external political pressures.
As the 2027 elections approach, ODM leaders are increasingly focused on party discipline, unity, and preparedness to ensure the party remains a formidable force in Kenya’s political landscape.
