Oburu Oginga has declared that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will not expel any of its members despite heightened internal disagreements.
Speaking to supporters during a rally in Siaya County on Saturday, February 21, 2026, the ODM leader underscored the party’s commitment to unity.
“What we want is the unity of our party. We are not expelling anybody from the party, but anybody who feels that he is uncomfortable with us can leave if he likes. Anybody who is uncomfortable can do what? Can leave if they like,” Oburu said.
Focus on Party Stability
Oburu’s remarks come amid ongoing debates within ODM over its political direction and leadership dynamics. He signaled that the party leadership prefers cohesion rather than disciplinary measures that could further divide members.
By stating that no one will be forced out, he appeared to reassure supporters while also sending a message that loyalty to the party’s vision is voluntary.
Strengthening ODM Ahead of 2027
The ODM leader emphasised that the party is concentrating on consolidating its structures and strengthening its base ahead of the 2027 General Election.
As political realignments continue across the country, ODM’s internal stability remains a key focus for its leadership.
