Ekuru Aukot has launched a sharp attack on William Ruto over what he terms a troubling silence amid controversy surrounding the alleged issuance of Kenyan passports to individuals linked to Sudan’s paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the Thirdway Alliance Party leader expressed concern that Kenya’s travel documents are now under heightened global scrutiny. The controversy reportedly involves individuals associated with the RSF, a group led by Sudanese commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
Aukot argued that the situation has raised serious questions about how immigration decisions were made and who authorised the issuance of the passports. He maintained that the President’s failure to directly address the matter is fueling public suspicion and eroding confidence in governance institutions.
“Our passports are under intense scrutiny, and questions are mounting about how decisions were made. The president’s silence on key concerns is fueling suspicion, with many now asking whether his inaction makes him complicit in the controversy,” Aukot stated.
The remarks come at a time when Kenya’s immigration systems and diplomatic standing are under close watch, particularly given the sensitivity of regional security dynamics involving Sudan.
Aukot called for transparency and accountability, urging the government to provide clear answers to restore public trust and protect the integrity of Kenya’s passport system.
