Leaders from the Wiper Democratic Movement are preparing to host Edwin Sifuna and his Linda Mwananchi movement for a major rally at Kaiti Market in Kaiti Constituency, Makueni County.
The rally, scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2026, was announced by Joshua Kimilu, who shared the details on his social media platforms on Thursday, March 5. According to Kimilu, the political gathering will begin at 2:00 pm and is expected to attract leaders and supporters from across the region.
Key Leaders Expected at the Rally
Several prominent leaders from the Wiper party and allied political formations are expected to attend the event. Among them are Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Dan Maanzo, and Robert Mbui.
Their participation signals growing political engagement between Wiper leaders and Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi movement as opposition figures intensify grassroots mobilisation across the country.
The planned rally comes just days after Patrick Makau joined the Linda Mwananchi team during a political event in Kakamega.
Makau, who is affiliated with Wiper, publicly aligned himself with the movement’s message, which has been gaining traction in several parts of the country.
With more leaders associated with the “Wamtam” slogan expected to attend the Kaiti rally, the event is likely to serve as another platform for opposition leaders to rally support and outline their political agenda as the country gradually shifts focus toward the 2027 General Election.
