The Electoral Commission has announced that the dispatch of election materials, including ballot papers and statutory forms, will officially begin on Friday, 21st November 2025, as part of the final preparations for the upcoming 27th November 2025 by-elections.
According to the Commission, special logistics arrangements have been put in place for far-flung and high-security areas such as Banisa and Mandera, where ballot papers will be airlifted due to long distances and heightened security considerations. This measure is aimed at ensuring timely and secure delivery of all essential materials ahead of voting day.
In a move to enhance transparency and build confidence in the electoral process, the Commission made a deliberate decision to invite all 51 participating political parties to witness the arrival of the ballot papers. Officials say this initiative underscores the Commission’s commitment to openness, accountability, and credible election management.
The arrival of the materials, including the first batch of 10 pallets received earlier, and the final shipment expected shortly, places the Commission on schedule as it prepares to deploy resources across all affected constituencies.
With dispatch beginning on schedule, the Commission has reassured the public and all stakeholders that preparations for the by-elections are progressing smoothly and in full adherence to electoral guidelines.
